Thanks for the recommendation for that "Educated Left Foot" site. I want the book about match day programs he reviewed. Congratulations to la nena on her podcast debut.

Yes indeed it is an interesting read - he also has a review of the Greatest Film Ever Made (tm) (Was Pelé in "Gone With The Wind"? Was Bobby Moore in "Titanic"? well, then...), and GREAT to see Frank Sidebottom getting proper recognition.

About that book, if you want to treat yourself AND support this blog/podcast, click on the appropriate link here .com or .co.uk, for a well known online bookstore (to the right look..or below), and buy it there...

Thanks for your support, oh, and it is well known my record collection knows no depths.... I keep promising El Tel singing, so don't push me... I will ... no, I will....

I would like to hear your comments regarding the omission of David Beckham from Fabio Capello's selection for the friendly against Switzerland. While I'm sure Mr. Capello would like to make a strong statement with a result that will demonstrate that England is now under a very different manager than Steve McClaren, I find Capello's choice to leave Beckham out of the team and prevent him from reaching 100 caps disrespectful to a player that has been a loyal servant to both club and country his entire career. Even if Beckham is not in Capello's future plans for England, extending a conciliatory gesture when nothing is at stake would go a long way toward winning over the confidence of the English team as well as its fans.
