Santa Tecla v Sonsonate
An enjoyable yet frustrating afternoon at a calm but busy Las Delicias as Sonsonate must be happiest with the goalless draw. The home side were simply not incisive enough, we saw some fine work down the right, but ultimatley Bernal's decision making and/or execution always let him down. Owing to the state of the pitch it was hard for Santa Tecla to play football on the ground as they normally try to, and we saw a lot of long hopeful balls. Both teams had chances to clinch it, but failed to capitalise. Santa Tecla showed once again their solid defence, but once again came up against a team sporting a big centre back who was a wall all afternoon. Santa Tecla 0 - Sonsonate 0

Such bold-faced name-dropping... really...

I would suggest that playing English league games outside of England represents the abject subjugation of culture to business.

Y el America... que chinguen sus reputisimas madres.

Regarding money and football, I sometimes wish for more equality in the game. It can get a bit boring and demoralising to have the same teams regularly winning things. The "Champions" League in particular doesn't hold as much interest for me as it should mainly because of this.

When surprises happen, like in the English cup yesterday, it is a bigger thing now than in the past. But it is only the FA cup, the big boys have certain other competitions on their minds, competitions where there is more money to be made.

I would like some form of restrictions in place, such as having to field a certain number of home based players put in place right across the board, in all countries and competitions.

At the same time, we don't want a situation where there is complete equality like in US sports and where it is impossible to build up a form of dominance through good management etc.

Anyway here is more sense from out friend Mr Blatter, just today on the EBC.
