In the other two Copa Libertadores first legs games 105,000 saw America beat Santos 2-0 thanks to a fine performance by Memo Ochoa in goal and Salvador Cabañas converting his only chances of the game, to become top scorer so far in this edition with 10. A nice lead to take to Brasil.

LDU Quito meanwhile got a precious away goal drawing 1-1 with San Lorenzo. Enjoy the Liga DUQ goal as keeper Agustín Orión has football pie all over his shirt...

Thanks for the pod again.

Ok, think I've got the quiz question. Is it that each of those teams finished ahead of the eventual winners in the group phases of the world cup ?

As for the new question, is it that each of these teams gets an inordinate amount of media coverage and bores every right minded person to death ? Or something to do with knocking each other out of the "champions" league ?

Very gallant Mother's Day gesture on the part of Santa Tecla.

Fascinating comments regarding the financial situations of the clubs. Best of luck to them in resolving what appear to be very dire circumstances. Fair criticism of England's Brave John Terry.

Brilliant story and photo of your friend.

I agree with your opinion regarding the perceived "legitimacy" of championships in leagues with a single table as opposed to those with playoffs (which I cannot stand).

This week's was my favorite of all your music selections so far.

1) Finally on the right lines ... but not quite correct .....
2) Well yes, that is very true ... but it is not anything to do with the "Champions" "League" at all....

Anon:-
Really? Just as well I did not go with "Ra-Ra-Ra Manchester United" then .... if Chelsea win the "Champions" "League" stand by for a truly terrible song....

In response to the last video included, I just wanted to add a link to an article I saw on BBC Sport earlier today.
