Re: the US Soccer Federation reaction to the proposal to stage EPL matches abroad. I don't for a second believe that the USSF are taking any moral high ground for the good of football. Rather, I think that they are genuinely concerned that English matches would draw away the casual US soccer fan that might attend as part of a child's birthday party or youth team end-of-season outing. MLS is still struggling in regard to attendance throughout the league, and I remember such sentiments being expressed during the summers (when MLS is in season) when teams such as Celtic, Chelsea, Real Madrid and the English national team were in the US on tour.

However, as you've stated, instead of taking an unequivocal stand regarding the extra-fixture matches, they have spinelessly volunteered their "reluctance."

Good stuff again dt.

I have been doing a lot of research into the worst sporting predictions of all time for my upcoming book. Your recent 12 goal error beats the previous worst ever prediction quite comfortably (Scotland 4 Morroco 0 but actually 0-3) by a clear 5 goal margin.
